40 DAYS OF FOCUS

We’re bringing God’s love to the communities with an all-out effort.

That’s what this program is all about. The love of God is spread abroad in our hearts and we have received the best and the happiest experience man could ever have that we can’t just shut up and sulk in one corner with inevitable smiles. As one song says, “…so blessed I can’t contain it…” We have to reach out to the lost, especially the poor!

The 40 Days of Focus program was designed to complement the existing outreach programs of the Apostolic Jesus Name Church. It is an umbrella-type of program, composed of at least 14 programs, which will last for 40 days. We aim for people to know Jesus and His great love, for people to be saved, and for their sickness to be healed. In each day of the entire period, each committed church member will be tasked to participate in a team with a respective activity to be done. Each day is filled to the brim with activities starting with 5:00 AM prayer. Funding comes from the members own pockets and we don’t ask for donations in everything that we do. The scriptures say that he who giveth to the poor shall not lack.

Here are four of our activities with excerpts of their mechanics:

Barangay Sulong

What about? Our version of street evangelism; bringing our services to the barangay and catering to their needs with activities like:

A. clothes giving

B. food sharing/giving of groceries

C. basic dental services

D. health classes

E. street service

What is our aim?

a. To win people for Christ from the barangays of Lucena City and to make a difference for the glory of God

b. To bring revival to the streets – people receiving the Holy Ghost and getting baptized in the neighborhood!

Spread the Word Program

What about? Giving of flyers in malls, school entrances and public markets

What is our aim? Reach as many people as possible through the flyers

When do we do this? Daily

Weepers and Warriors

What about? Taking turns in daily prayer in church and fasting to ask God to cover the 40-day program with His anointing

What is our aim? To seek God’s favor and anointing

When do we do this? Daily

Children of Encouragement Ministry

What about? Visitation of each church member and their respective families (The visits can take the form of a worship service, prayer meeting, bible study or fellowship.)

What is our aim? To encourage active and inactive church members and win their respective families

Our first 40 Days of Focus program last February 17-March 27, 2008 was a tremendous success. All glory be to Jesus! We’ve opened new avenues for evangelism, people were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ and received the Holy Ghost, new home bible studies were opened, and even former persecutors of our members were so touched that they proactively and voluntarily gave whatever we needed. Currently held in Lucena City, we aim for the other Apostolic Jesus Name Church branches in the Philippines to follow.
